DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF MIMO PATCH ANTENNA

Abstract


In this research paper, we have presented a low profile 2*2 MIMO rectangular microstrip patch antenna using the concept of MIMO for 5G applications. MIMO can be used for MIMO multiplexing and MIMO diversity, which allows signals to be transmitted and received from multiple antennas. Some issues, such as signal blocking and attenuation, occur at very high data rates and prove problematic for 5G communication. For high frequency antenna applications, a microstrip patch antenna is used. The proposed microstrip patch antenna is designed and simulated using HFSS Software. The proposed work is an inset feed microstrip patch antenna with a rectangular patch and full ground that provides 117.9 MHz bandwidth at 2.45 GHz. The antenna's impedance is 50 ohm. By using this 2*2 MIMO array antenna i.e. the 2*2 array of Inset Feed Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna (RMPA), the above problems can be dealt efficiently. It also has a return loss of -17.5829 db. We went over the concept of beam forming in greater detail. MASSIVE MIMO, MU-MIMO The proposed antenna is ideal for 5G applications.
