Studies on Mineral Resources of Cerium

B. Goswami, C.K Goswami

Abstract

This article has studied to learn extraction as well resourcing of cerium (Ce) from nature. Compound of cerium and oxygen has been study of cerium (III)oxide or Ce2O3 and cerium (IV) oxide or CeO2. Cerium (IV)oxide or CeO2 is known as ceric oxide, ceria, cerium oxide or cerium dioxide. Group of seventeen elements after inclusive from group of fifteen lanthanides as well scandium (Sc) and yttrium (Y) i.e. ethical (17 + 15 + 1 + 1) have subjected explore contributable proclaim, otherwise correspond rare earth. Geochemical scripture has described by radicals of hard acidic: H+, Li+, Na+, K+, Mg+, Ca+, Sr+, Ce+; radicals of hard bases: NH3, R-NH2, H2O, OH-, O2-, CH3COO-, CO32-, NO3-, PO34+, SO42-, F-; radicals of intermediate acids: Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Pb2+; radicals of intermediate bases: NO2-, SO32-, Br-; radicals of soft acids: Cu+, Ag+, Cd+, Hg+, Hg2+; and radicals of soft bases: CN-, CO, S2-, R-SH, R-S., Etiquette has been recapitulation of extraction method from existing i.e. either as product or by-product or recyclable form.
