Effect of Tensor Interaction on Splitting of Shell Model States

Abstract


Skyrme–Hartree–Fock theory afterward inclusion of tensor interaction has been used with several sets of parameters to evaluate the splitting of single particle shell model states of 208Pb because of abundance of experimental data. Intended for proton hole (-particle) states, nuclei 207Tl and 209Bi have been taken into consideration to compare while for neutron hole (-particle) states nuclei 207Pb and 209Pb were ruminated. The level splitting of spin–orbit a partner has been replicated rather commendably thus justifying the prominence of inclusion of tensor interaction. Neutron skin for this nucleus has also been calculated which may shed light on nuclear symmetry energy.
