Abstract

ABSTRACT

These days street light has become an essential aspect with road safety. A lot of electricity is used by street lights, thus making it imperative to save the power consumed by it. With the increasing cost of electricity, it is very crucial to save power. Street light control is an automated system, designed to improve the power efficiency of street lamps by automatically switching it ON and OFF. In rural areas, current theft is also common. In order to prevent the current theft, a continuous monitoring system to monitor the transmission line by the IoT method along with the street light controlling is proposed. This project describes a new solution for street light control system and transmission line monitoring system by IoT method. In this project, apart from LDR-based street light control, it can also be individually turned ON/OFF from remote locations using the IoT method along with the transmission line monitoring. The street lights are controlled from a base location by just sending a notification using wireless network. The primary motive behind implementing this project is to save the energy.
