On Formation of Bubble Structure Near The Island of Inversion

Abstract

A study on structures of nuclei near the ‘island of inversion’ has been done through Skyrme-Hartree-Fock theory after inclusion of tensor interaction. Using SLy5 force parameter set with tensor component a dip in the central region of the charge distribution of 32Mg suggestive of bubble formation has been observed. Variation of proton density with change of occupation of 2s1/2 state revealed interesting feature of depletion of proton density near central region. 34Si also showed similar depression of central density indicating non-robustness of N = 20 shell.
