Review on the Newton’s Second Law of Motion in Special Theory of Relativity

Abstract

In this review, the basic features of the special theory of relativity are mentioned in terms of mathematical analysis. The Lorentz matrix is shown by expressing a brief derivation. The length contraction and time dilation are also included and highlighted. Also, the mathematical derivation of relativistic energy is shown. Newton’s laws of motion were invented by Isaac Newton before the invention of the special theory of relativity by Albert Einstein. The relativistic forms of the Newton’s second law of motion in two different cases are shown by mentioning the relevant mathematical derivations. This review work is performed by author in the National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Government of India).
