A Review on Solar Cell

Rahnuma Khilji, Md. Irfan Ahmed

Abstract

The sunlight is a renewable source of energy that is noise free and pollution free. It compensates the energy the energy drawn from petroleum and fossil fuel which is present inside the Earth. The solar cell we are using today has undergone various improvements from one generation to another. Initially they were made of silicon. This paper reviews the generation of charge carrier. It also focuses on the working of solar cell based on photovoltaic effect and photovoltaic effect related to photoelectric effect.

Keywords: charge carrier, solar cell, photovoltaic effect, electromagnetic radiation, bandgap
